The Familyof the Month Award is given each month to a council family whose contributions to the Council, Church and community are above and beyond the norm and whose daily family life promotes the development and nurturing of the Catholic Family. This award is our way of saying thank you for your efforts.
We will select the Family of the Month based on nominations from fellow knights within the council. Their nominations must be justified. Some ccriteria, guidelines to consider when nominating a Family should be:
1. Has the family made significant contributions to the Church, community, and/or council? 2. Does the family enjoy one another? 3. Does the family share experiences? 4. Does the family communicate openly and honestly? 5. Does the family pray and attend mass together? 6. Does the family spend its time together interacting instead of in front of the television?
The overarching criteria to consider when nominating a family is not if they are a super family, but more importantly, if they live and practice traditional Christian family values.
Nominations will normally be made by the last Monday of each month, but due to the holiday in May, I request that the nomination for May's Family of the Month be made no later Than Monday, June 8, 2009.
